Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. All processing happens locally in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your files never leave your device.

What about scanned PDFs?

Scanned PDFs (image-only) without OCR text layers will produce limited or no text extraction. For best results, apply OCR to your PDF before converting.

Does the output work with Kindle?

EPUB files can be sent directly to newer Kindle devices via the Send to Kindle feature, or emailed to your Kindle address. Older Kindles may need a MOBI/KFX conversion through Amazon's service.

What is the difference between EPUB2 and EPUB3?

EPUB3 is the modern standard supporting HTML5 and CSS3, including audio, video, and better accessibility. EPUB2 is a legacy format for older readers. We recommend EPUB3 for all new conversions.

What is the maximum file size I can convert?

Since all processing happens in your browser, the limit depends on your device's available memory. Most devices handle files up to 100 MB without issues. Very large files may be slower on older devices.

Can I convert password-protected or DRM files?

No. DRM-protected files and password-locked PDFs cannot be converted. You must have the legal right and unrestricted access to convert any file.

Is the converter free to use?

Which browsers are supported?

All modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. We recommend using the latest version for best performance and compatibility.

Can I convert multiple files at once?

Currently the tool converts one file at a time. Select a new file after each conversion to process additional documents.

How do I add a cover image to my EPUB?

You can upload a JPG or PNG cover image in step 2 of the conversion form. For PDFs, the converter can also auto-detect a full-page cover image on page 1.
